Yes. The core Legacy Run game is free to play, with no account required. Expert Mode and the Salary Cap are free and can be turned on with any draft mode. Pro unlocks additional modes, advanced scouting and pro statistics, customization, dynasty and team saves, and an ad-free experience.
Pro unlocks every extra layer of Legacy Run and removes ads. It is $5 a month or $20 once for life.
No. There is no sign-up, and the game never asks for your name or email. Your streak and saved teams live in your own browser. See the privacy policy for details.
Yes. Every player is a single real pro season with that season's actual stats, from the public Basketball-Reference-derived dataset by Sumitro Datta (Creative Commons).
It is built from that season's real statistical record, and the engine behind it is calibrated against more than 1,600 real team-seasons. Read How the Ratings Work for more detail.

Any of them. The player pool runs from the early 1950s through the most recent completed season, and the engine accounts for era differences so cross-era teams are rated fairly.

They age through their career. When a Dynasty runs past real history, players follow an aging model built from careers across league history. Young players can improve, while older players decline. No Dynasty lasts forever.
No. Legacy Run is an independent, fan-made project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NBA or any team. It uses no logos or player likenesses. Team abbreviations and colors appear only as factual identifiers for a season.
